The lion, the witch, and the wardrobe

The kids got dressed up to go trick-or-treating tonight. John David decided at the last minute that he wanted to be a lion instead of what he had planned to be. And I have to say.....he was THE CUTEST LION EVER!



He was so excited to be a "scary lion".



Holy cuteness! I couldn't stop looking at him!



And I loved that he chose to wear his boots with his lion costume!



And here's Luna Lovegood......I mean Sarah.

While we were waiting for Katie to come out, Luna tried to cast a spell on the lion.

"Rocky" from Disney's Shake it Up finally came out to join us.

I'm thinking this will be her last year trick-or-treating. She's growing up!

A Halloween Treat

Aaron finally made some time for himself and went hunting this morning with a friend. He had only been in the stand for an hour when he saw and shot this 7 point. I so wish I could have been there to see how excited he was. This was his first buck EVER! And just in the nick of time too. We were getting critically low on our deer sausage supply. Great job honey!

Preschool--Halloween Edition

Today was our turn for preschool again. We made some mummies.



Then we read some super cute Halloween books.



And made Witches Brew.



The kids loved it.



They kept saying, "Do it again! Do it again!"



Then we made haunted houses out of the letter H.



And then we went on a Halloween scavenger hunt. We found lots of spooky things, like...........a jack-o-lantern.......



........a witch's broom..........



..........skeleton bones............



.............a witch's hat.................



...........lots of spiders............



...........and bats......just to name a few.



Then we ate bones and spider webs for snack time.



The kids weren't too sure about the snacks to begin with.



But they liked them once they tasted them. The look on John's face here cracks me up.



We had a spooktacular time with our preschool friends today!

Carving Pumpkins

We always carve our pumpkins the Monday before Halloween.



Sarah loves it! She even loves scooping out the pumpkin guts.



Katie doesn't like that part.



But she does enjoy the carving part.



Especially when Daddy helps.



Sarah and I worked on this one.



And then John David took over.



He fell in love with the pumpkin carving tools, especially the mini saw. He wanted to carry it around the rest of the night.



I forgot to get a picture of the carved jack-o-lanterns, but they turned out cute. I love making memories with my sweet family!

last game of the season

Tonight was Katie's last volleyball game. She asked me to make cupcakes for her team for after the game.



Let's  go Extreme!



Katie has improved so much on her serving.



She can get it over pretty consistently now.



Our goal is to get her serving overhand consistently for school tryouts for next year.



And she isn't afraid to go after the ball like she used to be.



She's so cute!



Way to go Extreme!
