Sarah's Birthday Party

Our little diva invited her friends over for her birthday party today.

She's in love with the zebra print at the moment, in case you didn't know.

So we did zebra nails for her guests.

Then we made these cute flower pens.

After craft time, the kids played outside for a bit. It was a beautiful day.

Then we came inside for presents.

And then some yummy party food.

Sarah requested a zebra stripe cake, which I was nervous about, but I love how it turned out.

And so did she!

Happy birthday little diva!

Aaron's Mini Me

It amazes me how much this little guy is like his Daddy already.

He dearly loves camouflage.

And guns.

His Daddy could not be more proud.

Joe & Holly Beach

This is Aaron's friend Joe. They became friends when they were both stationed at Camp Lejeune. They hadn't seen each other since they got out of the marines over 15 years ago....until Joe and his family moved to the Houston area a few months ago. We met him and his wife for a session at the temple last December, and then went to dinner with them afterwards. We decided that we need to get together as often as we can since they are so close to us now. But since Joe's family was out of town for a few weeks, he decided to make a trip over here for a quick visit without them.

So we took him to our favorite place to hangout......Holly Beach. John David wasn't very into it when we first got there. He just wanted to wrap up and sit back and relax a little while in the camp chair.

The sky was nice and clear.....until we got to the beach........and then we were surrounded by fog. Aaron put on his waders and went out a little ways to throw some fishing lines out.

Got went a little too far.....and a wave got him a little wet. And apparently he didn't learn from that, because he got completely soaked the next time he went out.

This was the first time we have been fishing at the beach, and the girls were pretty interested in how it worked.

John David finally decided to get up and play in the sand.

And eventually he decided that he wanted to check out the fishing scene too.

He's the cutest fisherman ever!

And we finally caught something.

But he wasn't a keeper. In fact, we threw back everything we caught. All three of them.

The highlight of the day was watching these three trying to get the soaking wet waders off of Aaron. It took about fifteen minutes. So. Stinkin. Hilarious.

And we couldn't go home without making some smores first.

Good times.

Baptism Pictures & BFFs

Our sweet little Sarah is turning eight in a few weeks, so we dressed her up in her white dress today and took some pictures. Can't believe she's almost eight.

We love this sweet little girl more than words can tell.

Sweet innocence.

Gorgeous smile.

Amazing spirit.

What's not to love?

Then we went down to Holly Beach and took a few more pictures.

I took some pictures of her BFF Carolyn too. She's getting baptized in March.

She has a beautiful spirit too.

And an infectious smile.

It was fun to watch them together.
