The Pumpkin Patch

We met some friends at the pumpkin patch today. I was hoping for a nice photo op.......but John David was distracted.



And not wanting to smile.



And the sun was too bright.



And just not into it at all.



He wanted to pick out a pumpkin.



And play the games.



And play with his friends.Can't blame him for that.



But I did manage to get some cute pictures of him eventually.



Just look at that sweet face.

 After playing in the pumpkin patch for a while, everyone came over to our house for lunch. We sure had a fun day with our friends! Happy Fall yall!

the corn maze

We went to CM Farms today with some friends.



The kids had fun racing their ducks.



John David was so fun to watch.



Even Katie wanted in on the duck races.



Then it was on to the corn maze. Here's our group getting instructions.



There were to different ways to navigate the maze. We choose to do the trivia questions. When you answer the questions, you find out the right way to go......if you answered correctly. Good thing we had a smart group.



Here's our little navigator. He held the map the entire time and kept saying, "We go this way guys."

It was a beautiful day to get lost in the corn maze.

We somehow got separated from the other part of our group, but we were the first ones out. :)

Aaron hid in the corn and scared these cute girls as they were walking by. It was pretty funny!

Here's the tower where they keep an eye out for the lost souls in the maze.



I didn't realize that these girls had decided to go out own their own and was getting worried about them because they were taking so long. I had just talked to someone about finding them when they came out. Haha! Thank goodness they are smarter than I gave them credit for.

After the maze, John David had a blast jumping on the giant jumping pillow.



And Sarah had a great time petting and talking to the animals.

John David loved the huge dirt pile. A boy's dream come true!



I loved that he helped his friend Jack up the hill.



They had some military guns and a hummer for the kids to crawl through and check out.



And fire trucks too!



John David thought it was pretty cool.



He tried playing tether ball, but it was mostly just chasing the ball.



What a fun day down on the farm with our friends!

going to the fair

We went to the Cal/Cam Fair tonight. It's become a tradition to go with Aaron's family, and we had planned to do just that. But that was before Jaimee hurt her knee and had to have surgery. So we decided to go tonight so we could go visit her tomorrow for her birthday. Of course we had to start out with the yummy fair food. The girls got nachos, which I didn't understand, considering all of the other amazing food there was to choose from. But, they love nachos.



John David ate a corn dog that was almost as big as him.



After eating the yummy fair food, it was time for the rides. The kids had a great time. The bumper cars were first.







After the bumper cars, we split up and Aaron took John David and Clayton to ride the kiddie rides and I took the girls to ride the bigger kid rides.



John David had to have this camo hat when he saw it. He loves it! What a cute boy!



Then they all rode the ferris wheel together.



I wasn't sure if John David would like it, but he absolutely loved it!



They were waving and yelling each time they'd come around.



It was so pretty all lit up as it was getting dark.



Sarah was cracking me up going through this wheel in the fun house. We watched lots of kids, even older kids, struggle to get out. She jumps in and starts jogging and waving at us and then just hops out like it's nothing. Funny girl!



So here's where I won my Mother of the Year Award. Since Katie skipped a volleyball game to go to the fair tonight, I told her she need to ride this ride to show her support since it was the same name as her team. She didn't really want to, but I told her it was just like a big swing that goes back and forth, so she decided she'd give it a try.



I have to admit that this ride looked very different from a distance than it did close up. It went so high I was getting nauseous just watching it. I was wondering how Katie was doing. When she got off she looked a little pale, but she said she was fine.



I told her and Sarah they should ride this one next to the Extreme because it looked fun and we were probably going to have to go soon. So they did.



Watching them on this one I thought it looked a lot less scary, and thought they were enjoying it.



Until they got off and they both looked pale. I felt so bad for them.



So we decided to head home.
